What are your hours of operation?
Our regular office hours are 8am to 8pm daily. The gift shop closes an hour before the office closes.
Seasonal hours extend our closing to 9pm. Please contact our office at (304) 372-7860 for those dates.
Our campus is closed to the public after dark, except for groups staying at Cedar Lakes.
Our night security monitors the facility and will ask those not staying in our lodging buildings to vacate the premises.
Can I check in early or check out late?
Because of time limitations between groups, we cannot guarantee room availability before 3pm on check-in day or after 11am on check-out day. All requests outside these hours MUST be approved by the Management.
Can I come early to decorate for an event?
Cedar Lakes cannot guarantee availability of a meeting space to decorate the day before your event.
If the room is ready, groups may be able to gain access after 5pm the day prior to decorate.
If you require more time to decorate the day before your event, access before 5pm will incur a half day charge.
Please contact the office regarding availability.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash, and checks (some exclusions may apply).
We do not accept American Express.
Which rooms are handicap/ADA accessible?
Holt Lodge has 4 handicap/wheelchair accessible rooms with a walk-in shower. Main and Mountaineer dorms and FHA room 3 also have walk-in showers.
Can I bring my pet with me to stay?
Only service animals are permitted in our buildings, and they must be registered. Registration papers must be presented to the office in advance of arrival.
Any evidence of pets without approval will incur a $150 cleaning fee.
Can I use water and electric hookups?
The cost to use water or electricity on the exterior of the building is $25 per use/day.
Waterslides and bouncy house are permitted in certain locations. Please inquire with the office about location and restrictions.
Car charging is strictly prohibited in all locations on campus. There are EV charging stations in Ripley.
Food trucks require a permit and special permissions to hook up to our electricity or water in the designated areas. Please inquire with the office for more information.
Are food trucks permitted at Cedar Lakes for group events?
Food trucks are allowed but a permit must be submitted and approved by the Management.
The fee for the permit is $75 and must be submitted and approved in advance.
Cedar Lakes staff must approve food truck locations in our designated areas.
Is cooking permitted in the buildings?
Cooking with regular appliances is only permitted in the Craft House Kitchen.
Crockpots are permitted but may only be used with a liner.
No food is to be washed down drains, including cleaning plates or serving utensils.
What are your mini golf rates?
Mini golf is $4.00 for 5 years and older and $2.00 under 5 years old.
Our daily group rate for mini golf is $150.
Does it cost anything to fish in your lakes?
Fishing is free to the public and is catch and release, but there may be restrictions based on scheduled events. Please inquire in the office for additional information.
What types of fish are in the lakes?
Our lakes consist of largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, catfish, blue gill, and grass carp. Watch out for the snapping turtles too!
Do I need a license to fish in the lakes?
We follow all state laws for fishing. In West Virginia, you need a license if you are 15 and up. Under 14 does not require a license. We don’t sell fishing licenses or worms at Cedar Lakes.
What is the cost, hours, and restrictions for the pool?
If you are staying at Cedar Lakes, the pool is free to use.
For the public, the pool costs $4 per person over 5 years of age, under 5 is free.
The pool is also available for rental before or after regular hours and the cost is $125/hour.
Our pool is open daily from 12-5pm during the season.
Items permitted in the pool area include small flotation devices, goggles, coolers, chairs, food and drinks.
Does it cost anything to use the Disc Golf course?
The disc golf course is free to use. If you forgot your equipment, stop by our Gift Shop to pick up new discs, bags, and markers.
Canopies are permitted but arrangements must be made in advance with the office for placement and approval of large canopies.
Can we display our group event signage?
Groups are free to place signs in the grass to indicate event locations. Nothing is to be attached to the buildings, inside or out.
Where is the Mill Creek Water Trail access point?
The Mill Creek Water Trail access point is located behind the Curriculum Lab and beside the large parking area at the access to the walking trails at the back of the property.
